The Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link (XRL) is a cross boundary transport infrastructure project, which will provide high speed rail services between Hong Kong and Mainland China.
The Tse Uk Tsuen To Shek Yam Tunnel Section involves the construction of a 7.6 km twin-track tunnel between Tse Uk Tsuen and Shek Yam, ventilation and access adits, two ventilation buildings and a 90 m deep ventilation shaft. Drill and blast techniques will be used for the construction of the tunnels. The Project started in March 2010 with scheduled completion in 2015.
The role of ESL is to provide surveying support during the tunnel construction (except monitoring).
